#EBW25 Previews: 8C: Special samples, special needs

This session opens the stage for any special samples, sampling methods or processing techniques that can facilitate innovative research needs and strategies. The focus will be broad and include, among others, novel or rarely collected materials as well as home-based data collection and sampling.

This session will be chaired by:

Dr. Anna Beskow

Dr. Anna Beskow has served as the head of Uppsala Biobank, the joint biobank between the hospital and the university, since 2008. Since 2019 she has been the deputy director for Biobank Sweden and is responsible for IT and national operative services. In 2024, she was also appointed national node director for Sweden as part of BBMRI-ERIC.

Dr. Micheline Sanderson 

Dr. Micheline Sanderson is the director/principal investigator of the CAP-accredited AMC/ACSR Sub-Saharan Africa Biorepository (SSAB) in the Division of Anatomical Pathology at Stellenbosch University, Cape Town, South Africa. Her research interests as a PhD scientist are biobanking, QA/QC and biospecimen-related science, with a special focus on HPV-and HIV-related cancers.
