#EBW24 previews: Chair for panel session ‘Modelling and regenerative medicine – artificial cellular models’

We are very pleased to confirm the chair for the panel session ‘Quality: New sample types and methods: Modelling and regenerative medicine – artificial cellular models’: Dr. Anna Michalska-Falkowska from the Medical University in Bialystok, Poland. The session takes place on Thursday 16 May 2024 as part of the EBW24 programme.

Dr. Anna Michalska-Falkowska

Anna Michalska-Falkowska, PharmD is a specialist in clinical pharmacy and holds a Master of Science in Biobanking. She is a graduate of the Medical University in Bialystok (Poland), the University of Alberta (Canada), and the Medical University of Graz (Austria). She completed her studies in “Non-commercial Clinical Research – Design, Implementation, and Management” at the Medical University of Wroclaw.

Currently holds the position of Deputy Director for Quality Management at the Biobank of the Medical University in Bialystok, Poland. She is also a lecturer at the Medical University of Graz and serves as the Coordinator of the Clinical Team and Data Management Specialist at Indivumed Services in Hamburg, Germany. In 2023, she obtained the Qualification in Biorepository Science awarded by the American Society for Clinical Pathology in the USA.

She is a member of the Governance Committee and the Chair of the Future Conferences Task Force at the International Society for Biological and Environmental Repositories (ISBER). Additionally, she is a co-author of ISBER Best Practices: Recommendations for Repositories, 5th Edition. Dr. Michalska-Falkowska is an expert for the Medical Research Agency in evaluating clinical research projects, an expert for the Foundation for Polish Science in the field of medical biotechnology, and an expert for the European Milk Bank Association in introducing the European accreditation system for milk banks. She also serves as an expert for the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development and the Foundation for the Center for Initiatives for Society in the field of polypharmacotherapy and polypharmacy.

Member of the expert committee responsible for preparing the Polish Biobanking Act. She is the leader and coordinator of projects funded by the National Science Center, the National Center for Research and Development, and the Medical Research Agency. She received a scholarship from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education under the Transformation.doc program, the National Leading Scientific Center, the Medical Research Agency, and The Harvard Medical School’s Polish Clinical Research Training.
