#EBW24 previews: Chair for panel session ‘One health: Bioinformatics and -omics and big data’

We are delighted to confirm the chair for the panel session ‘One health: Bioinformatics and -omics and big data’: Professor Andres Metspalu from the University of Tartu. The session takes place on Thursday 16 May 2024 as part of the EBW24 programme.

Professor Andres Metspalu

Prof. Andres Metspalu, (MD 1976, PhD 1979) Head of the human disease genomics lab, Estonian Genome Centre, Institute of Genomics, University of Tartu. His main scientific interests are human genetics, genomics of complex diseases and population-based biobanks and application of the precision medicine in health care. Metspalu is the past (2006) president of the European Society of the Human Genetics. 2010 he was elected to the Estonian Academy of Sciences. He is served in several national and international committees (Board member of Mission for Cancer in Horizon Europe (until Dec.2021, EU 1+Milion Genome as a member of the coordination group and lead or co-lead of WG10 and 12.
