#EBW24 previews: Chairs for Quality Management and pre-analytics: Pre-analytic impact on sample quality

We are pleased to confirm the chairs for the panel session ‘Quality Management and pre-analytics: Pre-analytic impact on sample quality – means & measures’: Prof. Radka Kaneva from Medical University of Sofia and Dr. Rocío Aguilar Quesada from the Andalusian Public Health System Biobank. The session takes place on Wednesday 15 May 2024 as part of the EBW24 programme.

Prof. Radka Kaneva

Radka Kaneva, PhD is Professor of biochemisty at Medical University of Sofia, Bulgaria and head of the Molecular Medicine Center at MU-Sofia. A national node coordinator for BBMRI.bg, national representative in the special group for 1+MG at EC, and a member of WG10 expert group, 1+MG initiative. She is a member of the administrative board of the Bulgarian Association for Personalized Medicine. Her major research is in the field of human genetics and genomics. PI and participant in many international consortia, national and international projects. She has devoted her efforts to develop biobanks for research in neuropsychiatry, oncology and rare genetic disorders at Medical University of Sofia. Her current goal is the establishment of the Bulgarian national node and promoting the role of biobanks in translational research and precision medicine, as well as the implementation of NGS technology for research and diagnostics in Bulgaria.

Dr. Rocío Aguilar Quesada

Dr. Rocío Aguilar Quesada has been working as Technical Responsible in the Andalusian Public Health System Biobank in Granada since 2009. PhD in Biochemistry and M.S. in Biobanking and using of human biological samples for biomedical research. She is currently coordinating and participating in different projects and initiatives related with quality assurance, biospecimen science and ELSI of using of biological samples.
