The session takes place on Wednesday 15 May 2024 as part of the EBW24 programme.
Abstract: Challenges for the Biobanking Community in Light of the New EU Digital Package of regulations, with a Focus on the European Health Data Space (EHDS)
In this presentation, we will elucidate the new EU digital package of regulations, encompassing significant components such as the AI Act, Data Act, and the proposal for the European Health Data Space (EHDS).
Specifically, the EHDS is a regulatory initiative designed to establish a European Health Data Space, aiming to enhance user access to health data and introduce a new system for the reuse of health data.
However, the adoption of this new regulation would pose numerous questions and concerns, which we will thoroughly examine and discuss throughout this session.
